Urinary Tract Infection is also called a UTI. This is when your Kidneys, ureters, bladder, or urethra is infected. Most of the infections occur in the bladdre or urethra when bacteria enters the urinary tract. The most common type of bacterials UTI is caused by a bacteria called Escherichia Coli (E. Coli). This bacteria is very common in the gastroenterological tract (G.I. Tract).

Symptoms of UTI include:

  • A cloudy urine
  • Pain or a burining sensation when urinating
  • Frequently needing to urinate
  • Pinkish or red color urine when UTI is present with traces of blood in the urine
  • Stronger than usual urine smell
  • Pelvic pain is also not uncommon in women
  • Shaking or chills if infection is more advanced
  • Fever may also follow if severe infection

It is not uncommon to have absolutely no symptoms. For that reason, it is important for the doctor to provide a thorough exam in higher risk populations.
